Tressa Thomas Retraining Awards

A number of awards to assist mature women, aged 25 years and above, to undertake study in order to return to a profession or take up work (paid or unpaid) in the community.

Value: $2,000 each

Please note that applications will not be accepted until 6 weeks before the closing date of each round.
 

New Start Awards - Dame Dorothy Winstone and Rae Hammer New Start Awards

Two New Start Awards to assist up to two women students from the University of Auckland’s New Start programme to study towards a degree at the University of Auckland.  Only applicants who have completed this Programme will be considered.

Value: $18,000 over three years

Foundation Awards, including Jane Bellamy and Elizabeth Godfrey Foundation Awards

 A number of awards to assist women who have completed a full time Foundation Course at an approved Tertiary Institute, totaling 120 points at NCEA Level 3 or above, and have enrolled in full time study for their first degree or diploma, to meet course expenses. In addition, up to two named Awards are available to students who have completed the Foundation Course at the University of Auckland, who are enrolled in full-time study for their first degree or diploma.

Value: $2,000 each

Jane Bellamy and Elizabeth Godfrey Foundation Awards (University of Auckland students only)
Value: $18,000 over three years

Practicum Awards

 
To assist a woman to carry out study for a Bachelor's or Master’s degree with a required practicum component. Up to four awards will be made for a year of study that requires a student to undertake a practicum which is usually unpaid and involves travel or residence away from home.

Value: $7,500
Closing Date: 19 February 2024

 

Bachelor with Honours Degree Awards

A number of awards to assist women to complete their final year of a Bachelor with Honours Degree at an approved Institute in the Auckland Area.

Value: $8,000
Closing Date:  12 February 2024
